I am sitting on a rock.
Sitting...
Waiting...
for someone to hear.
My yells echo against the mountain crags
as the morale left inside me drags
in the dirt.
Cornered against a tree,
as the sky begins to envelope
the empty spaces.
I call out my pleas.
Does anyone hear me?
Or is there no one around to listen
to my hopes
glisten
in the sunlight.
